Self-reflection

A thirst for knowledge,
that goes beyond college.
While some get hooked
on love and yearning
and others focus
on wealth and earning,
you’ll prefer to have a
a lifetime of learning.

People will advise you
with their biases and prejudices.
Young and naïve,
you may believe them for a while.
But your scepticism
knows no boundaries.
You’ll question their faith
and ruffle a few feathers.
Forge new paths,
even change their weather.
But after some time,
you’ll turn a new leaf.
A cerebral rebel no more,
a huge sigh of relief.
Even mingle with folks and
accept their beliefs.

Discover mother nature,
and find peace in her cool breeze.
Whom you may ignore for many years,
until you overcome your sensory fears.
See her mountains and fountains,
smell the roses, befriend the horses.
Furry friends who meow and bark,
will give your life a new spark.
Traverse trails through ice and fire,
gaze at the fauna, floras and auroras.
Nature’s wonders, a plethora.

Life’s a journey
and I wish you to
evolve till expiry.
You’ll get attached to
living beings and things.
Friends and family,
maybe a spouse
and some houses.
Riches, fame,
countless achievements
under your name.
But when it’s time for the final twist,
let go of them all, and cease to exist.
